Materials

Materials are to be used in conjunction with Service Types. They will outline the types of materials the operative used to complete a service type while onsite. Each Material can be given its own Unit Measure and cost.

Each material can be selected on the FireArrest app for an operative who then will input the details required. This is usually the measurements or quantity of the material used for that pin.

Setting up a Material

As like a service type, the materials section has multiple aspect to it which can be filled out in order to give the best description of the material.

  1. The First step is to add a Product Code/Title. This will usually be the name of the material and the manufacturer.

       2. Insert an Internal Code for the material

       3. Add a Description of the material. This could include the material dimensions or a brief description of what it does.

       4. Select a Unit Measure. There are five options, Linear length, Area of metres squared, Diameter, no measurement and unit quantity. All options except for no measurement will require the operative on site to enter a valid number. These can later be edited on the dashboard if the incorrect number was added.

It is important to note that if you are using any of the options that require a measurement to be taken then there is an option for Fixed Cost. This means that regardless of the amount of material used the number entered will always be charged. If it is unchecked, then the system will calculate the cost based on the Measurement entered by the operative.

       5. Finally enter the relevant cost for the material.

Once all the information has been completed, please select ‘Submit’ and the new material will now be displayed on the material list.
